ASVAB Career Exploration

From the Desk of Dr. Dreshman

The Armed Forces Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) Career Exploration Program is intended to help students identify career interests and abilities. The ASVAB itself is a test that students enjoy taking. The program is sponsored by the U.S. Military.

The test and the career exploration process helps students recognize qualities and areas of employment that might be a “perfect fit” for them – students often discover qualities they didn’t know they had!

ASVAB career exploration is open to any 11th and 12th grade students who are interested and is free of charge.

Students do not have to be interested in the military to engage in the career exploration process through ASVAB. However, students who are interested in the military as a career, are strongly encouraged to take the ASVAB to see if they may qualify for full tuition scholarships.

Because the test is given during the school day, students are responsible for any class work that they miss.

ASVAB is offered sometime in October or November. Information regarding ASVAB goes out in October. Interested students should listen to the announcements and look for postings with further information.
